Obituary: Elizabeth Baker Carbaugh 1876
"Lawrence Press", October 19, 1876 edition, page 2
"The funeral of Mrs. Elizabeth Carbaugh took place at Wilmington Oct. 9th, 1876- Rev. Duncan conducting the funeral services. This venerable lady was born in the State of Maryland in 1799, and came to this county when only eleven years of age and has lived in this vicinity ever since. "Aunt Lizzie" (as the people were won't to call her) was severely afflicted for some months before her death, yet she never complained or murmured, but during her illness she was a prodigy of patience and calm resignation. She remarked in her sickness, "that it was God who had afflicted her and she was willing to submit without a murmur. "She leaves a large circle of mourning friends, who have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community."
