Birth 4 May 1758 John Baker, son of Thomas Baker and Dorothy Davenport, was born on 4 May 1758 at Culpeper County, VA.1 Marriage 24 Jun 1787 John Baker married Urcilla White on 24 Jun 1787 at Burke County, NC. Urcilla may well have been a cousin or niece of John's cousin William White (cousin by marriage to Sophia Davenport, daughter of Thomas Davenport).[1]

Notes

"This Captain John Baker Sr did not marry Nancy Ann Norfleet. The husband of Nancy Norfleet lived long enough to get a pension in 1832.

The Captain John Baker Sr in this tree died in 1806 leaving his wife Ursula White Baker a widow in Jefferson County, Tennessee Ursula White was the daughter of Thomas White who left Burke County, NC and died in Claiborne Co. Mississippi. He left a will noting Ursula Baker his daughter. The will was transcribed incorrectly and she is listed as "Hurtley" Baker. Her common name was Urstly.[2]

Baker-37299 and Baker-14228 do not represent the same person because: John Baker (Baker-37299) married in East Yorkshire England, whereas John Baker (Baker-14228) was born, married , had children and died, all in America. They are clearly different people.

Baker-4792 and Baker-14228 do not represent the same person because: Different POB and DOB. Different POD and DOD. Baker-4792 dates confirmed with FAG including gravestone pics.
