Biography

Lemuel was born on 3 Apr 1850 in Chesterfield NY.[1] He was the son of Seneca Baker and Joanna Green and the brother of Deborah, Hattie and Myron W. Baker.

Lemuel was a blacksmith.[2] He and Alice were lifelong members of the Methodist Episcopal Church.[3]

On 26 Dec 1876, Lemuel married Alice Sibley.[4] Two years later, Lemuel's sister Hattie married Alice's brother Martin Sibley. And two years after that, Lemuel's brother Myron married Alice's sister Cora Jane Sibley.

Lemuel and Alice had seven children: Willard (1879-1939, married Alice Morford), Wallace H. (1882-1942, married Eva D. Baker), John C. (1884-1959, married Gertrude), Myron W. (aka "Uncle Chick" 1887-1973, married Daisy Woodruff), Eddie K. (1892-1949, married Salinda Beesaw), Charlotte Elizabeth (1890-1947, married Charlie Allen then Allen Sibley Baker), and Eva (1896-1954, married Mitchell Terry).

Lemuel's wife Alice died in 1919. After her death, Lemuel went to live with his son John and family in Ausable Forks NY. Lemuel died on 25 Mar 1932.[5] Lemuel and Alice are buried together in the Harkness Cemetery.
