Research Notes

His mother was born in Pennsylvania and never lived in Germany, so he could not have been born in Germany.

The following passage raises questions about Jacob's date of death and whether or not his body was ever recovered ...

"In 1800 Jacob and Mary (Breck) Baker, with eight children and sixteen grandchildren, left Somerset County, Pennsylvania, to join the migration from that county to Canada. Jacob became lost on the way and it was feared he was taken by the Indians. His widow and the family waited for two years at Black Creek, not far from Niagara Falls. Then, in 1802, the widow and six of her children and some of the grandchildren came to York County." [4]

Jacob was born in 1731. He passed away about 1793.

Brecht-445 and Baker-15281 appear to represent the same person because: Per wikitree policy all individuals should have only one profile. These 2 dups have the same parents and the same wife, so they should be merged together.

Baker-15281 and Brecht-445 are not ready to be merged because: Even though much of the information is the same, Brecht is a different person, I believe.

His surname is BAKER ... it was his wife who was born a BRECHT.

Brecht-445 and Baker-15281 are not ready to be merged because: Brecht is the surname of wife, Maria. This should be corrected.

when the dups are merged, the correction can be made at that time.

Baker-18874 and Baker-15281 are not ready to be merged because: There needs to be more research on these two, as Jacob Baker was a very common name among the Baker families. There are enough differences to postpone the merge.
