Biography

Edythe Marie GOSSLER's short history of Addison Baker

Another relative left some interesting information about Addison, Nathan and Helen: Edythe Marie GOSSLER 1905 To 1990 was the wife of Malcolm Briggs KNISELY 1900 - 1954 who was a relative to Nathan and Helen Baker.(first cousin 2 removed from Nathan and Helen but also, G Grandnephew of Addison Baker) Edthe wrote a short family history KNISELY HISTORY (GOULD, SHATTUCK, BAKER, BRIGGS) (SAMPSON, GOSSLER, KNISELY) in which I got from her son, Malcolm B. KNISELY Jr.and included the following information: cla.

("During 1850's Addison went to Denver, Colo. - married his double cousin. Had 2 children: Helen and Nathan. Helen was the masculine type; Nathan was more effeminate. They lived on a farm that was later sold to the railroad for a big price. Helen raised stallions and lost all her money - married one of the horse handlers. Nathan married better but lost his money in a gold mine. They had a daughter who lived in Denver..

When Addison died he had a monument put up in the cemetery over his grave of a true likeness of his favorite stallion. This is today pointed out to tourists on sight-seeing buses.").

Carole, thanks for your comment over on Ancestry! It looks like I was doing a lookup for someone back in 2009. Now, if only I knew why! I live in Colorado and have a note that I was searching Denver city directories for Keeble (Mille's married name).
