Biography

Edward was born in 1806. He was convicted of stealing ( possibly from the church plate) in Sussex, England, United Kingdom and transported to Australia for life on 21/3/1836. This sentence was later reduced to 7 years with a conditional pardon of 10 years after this. He was required to remain in the Parramatta area for 10 years. When this period was up, he proceeded to the Victorian Gold fields. This is when and where he met and married Jemima Belgrove.
