"Marjorie L. Moore passed away March 15, 1999. She was 81. Marjorie was born on May 24, 1917, in Rodna to Angus and Eva Miller Baker, Whitman County pioneer families. She went on to live in various locations during her younger years and graduated from Colfax High School.

She married Joseph Thomas Peebles on Sept 29, 1941 at Colfax, and he passed away in 1959. Marjorie then married Robert W Moore on Dec 3, 1960, at Coeur d'Alene, and he passed away in 1984.

She served as a deputy assessor for Whitman County for several years before becoming a deputy assessor at Okanogan for three years. IN 1972, Marjorie became deputy assessor in Lincoln County and was elected as assessor in 1976. She retired from that position in 1982. Marjorie moved to Colfax three years ago, where she enjoyed playing cards and held the title of Whitman County Cribbage Champion.

She is survived by two children, Timothy Paul Peebles of Coeur d'Alene and Mary R Crawford of Colfax; 5 grandchildren; one great grandchild; and one sister, Kay Krom of LaCrosse. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Sue; one brother, Robert A Baker; and her parents. Friends who wish may visit at the Bruning Funeral Home of Colfax Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. and graveside services will be held in the Colfax Cemetery with the Rev Bob Ingalls officiating.
