Richard, are you just wanting to explore our site for information? That's perfectly okay with us. Everything is free here and you don't need to volunteer to do that.
The upper right hand corner has five menus with useful links. You can do a search for ancestors under the 'Find' menu.
If you're interested in helping us grow our worldwide tree by adding your branches or helping in some other way, please let us know and one of us will be happy to confirm you. :)
Welcome to WikiTree! As a guest, you can search for ancestors and participate in G2G, WikiTrees forum.
Please look at the drop-down menus in the upper right corner and read our Honor Code.
If you would like help with WikiTree's mission to grow one worldwide tree (free, no spam), click the "Volunteer" button, then post a comment indicating that you would like to contribute information.
Let me know if you have questions. (If links don't work from email, check your profile page.)
Now that you have had a little time to try WikiTree, there are a few more features you may find useful.
Ideas on what to include in a profile can be found in Styles and Standards, including some tips on writing biographies.
If you need to describe an event, an heirloom or a location relevant to your research, you may like to learn about Free Space Profiles.
Lastly, sometimes you'll run into unresponsive profile managers. We have a process for resolving those unfortunate situations.
If you have any questions, feel free to ask via my profile page. Berry Henderson ~ WikiTree Mentor
