Biography

Edward Baker was born in 1821 in Durrington, Wiltshire, England to Levi Baker and Jane (Smith) Baker - he was christened on 29 Apr 1821 in Durrington.^[1]

In 1841 Edward Baker (age 20-24) lived in Durrington with his father Levi (60-64, Ag Lab), mother Jane (50-54), and six siblings: Ann (20-24), Samuel (16), Susannah (15), David (11), Thomas (6), and Mary (3), as well as aunt Cecilia Smith (30-34).^[2]

Edward Baker married Sarah Sopp in 1851. The marriage was registered in Amesbury, Wiltshire in the first quarter of the year.^[3]

Edward and Sarah had three children:

3. William James Baker (1865-)
