Mary Polly Baker was born on June 6th 1829 to parents Isaac Baker and Jane (Loney) Baker.
Born in Tennessee she was raised their as well living with her family in Meigs County. At the time of the 1850 census at 21 years old she was living in Meigs with her mother and 5 other siblings, their father having passed away in 1834.[1]
On March 2nd 1854 Mary married John Hollomon. Together the couple had at least 9 known children; Mary (whom died at birth), Harriet (Hollomon) Chastain, Pleasant Hollomon, Issac Hollomon, Susanah (Hollomon) Pickel, Sarah (Hollomon) McCallon, Owen Hollomon, John Hollomon and Amos Hollomon.
The couple raised their family in Meigs County, Tennessee where John was a farmer and Mary handled the many things involved in caring for a large farming family.[2][3][4]
Mary eventually passed away on September 10, 1899 at the age of 70. She was laid to rest the Baker Moulton Cemetery in Ten Mile, Meigs County, Tennessee with her parents and husband John.[5]
Original birth and death dates entered were both the same...3/2/1834. Obviously this is not correct as she was married and had a family so did not die as an infant. I'm making note of the date here as it may be information that belongs to another person, or another important date related to Mary and do not want to completely delete it.
