Biography

John was born about 1827 in Tennessee. He is the son of Conrad Baker and Christina Eckart.

Research Notes

John apparently married two times, he has not been located in the 1850 census. In 1860 two female children, Orlena age 12 and Eliza age 8 were in the household. The 1900 census states that John and Ruth Ann had been married 45 years which would put their marriage about 1855. Therefore Margaret Sofrona was the daughter of Ruth. Family search tree shows the mother of Orlena was Ruby Sherill, but a marriage record has not been located for either marriage.
