Ruth Baker was born about 1765 in Lincoln, North Carolina, daughter of Charles Baker (~1716–1786) and Margaret Unknown (1722–1786).
Ruth married Mathias Bovey (born about 1754; son of Conrad Bovey and Mary Magdalene (Magdalene) Bovey). Their children were:
- Mathias Poovey (1780–~1846)
- Mary Bovey (1785–1843)
- William Bovey (~1790–~1859)
- David Boovy (1796–1860)
- Sally Poovey (1801–1847)
- Elizabeth Boovey (1803–1875)
- Joseph Poovey (1806–1870)
Ruth died about December 21, 1859 in Catawba, North Carolina, United States, aged about 93. She was buried in Old Saint Paul's Lutheran Church Cemetery, Newton, Catawba County, North Carolina.[1]
