John Baker Jr. is part of a Bahamian family.

According to a family list prepared by Nancy W. Keslko and displayed at the historic Baker homestead in Pasco (Holiday) Florida ,John Baker b. abt. 1838 was the son of Sarah Russell and John William Baker and John married Eliza Goodhue in 1861.


31 August 1861: Emma Catherine Goodie married J. W. Baker Jr. in Monroe, Florida, United States

In 1870, John W Baker (Jr.) lived next door to his mother and his brothers Benjamin and Joseph. He shared the house with his sister Romilda who was married to Thomas Russell. John was married to Emma Baker b 1841-1842 in "Ruatan"

Their children were : Emma Baker b 1860-1861 John Baker b. 1865-1866 Mary Baker b.1867-1868


In 1880 and in 1885, John W Bakerwas a widower living in Key West, Fl. He made his living as a sailor. John William's mother Sarah b Bahamas lived with him in 1880 and in 1885.

In the census of 1880, John William's wife's birthplace was listed as England, his as Bahamas. When John William 11 passed away, his death certificate said that Emma Goodie was b in Guatemala!

John W Baker (iii) b 1866 or 18 Nov 1861 d.18 Jun 1925 was Working In Cigar Factory at age of 14 and was a Retired Cigar Mfg at time of his death. m. Bell L Edwards Address at death: 5902 Central Ave., Tampa, Hillsboro, Florida Cemetery Myrtle Hill Burial Date 21 Jun 1925
