Samuel was christened on 2 October 1764 at Jacobstow, Cornwall, England. He was the son of William and Ann Baker.[1]
In 1818 Samuel was described as a labourer in the baptism record of his daughter, Grace.[2]
In 1841 he was living, with his wife Catherine and daughter Grace, at Withevin, Jacobstow. He was described as a farmer, aged 75.[3]
He was buried in Jacobstow on 30 January 1845. His residence was given as Bickaveans, Jacobstow.[4]

Samuel is mentioned in his father, William Baker's Will written on 15 January 1786.[5]
Samuel was mentioned, in his mother’s, Ann Baker’s Will written on 19 May 1801, to receive 5 shillings, 1 year after her death.[6]
