Biography

Josiah, son of William and Mercy (Lawrence) was born 14 Dec. 1704. Me married first Experience. For Josiah married second 25 Sept. 1729 Charity Eddy, born about 1707, daughter of Eleazar and Elizabeth (Randall). He removed from Yarmouth to Dutchess County, New York. He and his son Edmund in 1773 helped to organize a church at Phillips Patent (now Carmel) across the boundary in Putnam County. Josiah died in 1795.
