Daniel Barber died on 8 Nov 1735, at the age of 29, when the schooner he was master of for Joseph Allen, Esq. and Company of Gloucester sank at Antego [Antigua?].[7]
Note: This Joseph Allen is most probably Anna (Baker) Barber's uncle, her mother's brother, Joseph. He was apparently a substantial member of the Gloucester business community, able to put "Esq." after his name and to organize investors in a ship-owning company. Her brother, Jabez, Jr., was also a captain. Was he master of another of his uncle's ships?
Anna's second husband was David Plumer, whom she married on 25 Aug 1737, in Gloucester.[8]
Only one child of Anna and David Plumer was registered at Gloucester:
David Plumer (24 May 1738;[9] d. 13 Jul 1801, age 63)[10]
There are no records at Gloucester of the deaths of either Anna or David Plumer. The date originally provided by the imported gedcom for this profile, 2 Mar 1768, actually belongs to a "Baker, Anne, Mrs. W. E." Since there seems to be no record that Anna (Baker) Barber Plumer again became a widow, or that she remarried, this time to another Baker, this date has been discarded. The estimate of 1770, and that she died in Massachusetts, are simply place-holders and should be replaced as soon as possible with actual information. It is possible that the family relocated.
