Sir Henry Baker, Knight and Baronet
Henry Baker (born c 1587) was the son of Sir John Baker and Mary Guildford.[1][2][3]
He married Katherine Smythe, eldest daughter of Sir John Smythe and Elizabeth Fineux.[1][3][4][5]
Mr Henry Baker of Kent, gentleman, married Mistress Katherine Smythe, daughter of Sir John Smyth, by Licence on 27 Feb 1605/1606 at St Gabriel, Fenchurch, City of London.[6]

He matriculated Magdalen College, Oxford, on 6 June 1600 age 13, achieved his B.A. in May 1603 and was admitted to the Middle Temple in 1604.[2]
He was knighted on 15 July 1606 at Oatlands, Surrey, and created 1st Baronet Baker of Sissinghurst, Kent, on 29 June 1611.[2]
He died at his house in Lime Street London and was buried at Cranbrook, Kent, on 04 Dec 1623.[2][5]
His will was proved 06 May 1624.[8]
By 1601 Thomas Baker, Henry's uncle, was the only male adult representative of the senior line of the Sissinghurst Bakers. In quick succession Henry's grandfather and father John had died, the first in 1594, the second, aged over 40, two years later; the heir, Henry was then a minor.[9]
