Biography

Adam Bald was born on 2 March 1839 and was baptised on 7 April 1839 in Edrom, Berwickshire, Scotland, United Kingdom. His parents were Adam Bauld (~1802 - ) and Margaret Denham (~1810 - 1895)[1].

His siblings were:

  1. John Bald (~1835 - )
  2. James Bald (1836 - 1909)

In the 1841 census Adam (age 2) was in Westbarns, Dunbar, Haddingtonshire[2].

In the 1851 census Adam (age 12), Scholar, was the son of Margaret Bald in Lawsons Houses, Westbarns, Dunbar, Haddingtonshire[3].

In the 1861 census Adam (age 22), Blacksmith, was the son of Margaret Bald in Post Road, Dunbar, Haddingtonshire[4].

Adam married Jane Turnbull (1843 - ) on 27 April 1866 in Dunbar, Haddingtonshire, Scotland. On His marriage certificate he is said to be a Blacksmith[5].

Their children were:

In the 1871 census Adam (age 32), Paper Maker Finisher, was in West Barns Road, Dunbar, East Lothian.[6]

Adam died on 30 Jul 1872 in Dunbar aged 33. Cause of death was Pneumonia[7].
