Sylvester Baldwin Jr., and Sarah Bryan were previously attached as parents of Temperance. According to the Aston Clinton Records, Bucks Co., England,, shown as mother to this profile, had 9 children. 6 of those children emigrated with their parents in 1638 aboard the ship "Martin". (See Baldwin-129 for complete source information).
Temperance Baldwin is not named as daughter of Sylvester and Sara (Bryan or Ryan) Baldwin. Sylvester died aboard the ship at sea, and his noncupative will was proved in Boston, Mass., approx. July 1638, in which Sarah (Bryan) Baldwin and her son Richard Baldwin (age approx. 16 years old) are named executors of Sylvester's Will. The will does not mention Temperance Baldwin, born 1622 in New Haven CT (per information contained in this profile).
There is data contained in Ancestry.com for a Temperance Baldwin born in 1622, Oyster Bay, Nassau County, Long Island, shown as daughter of Sylvester Baldwin and Sarah Bryan. Example: family data collection-Births, Edmund West comp.
Temperance also could not be the daughter of Richard Baldwin (Reynolds), as its well documented that his daughter Temperance married Nathan Burwell.
Biography
The wife of Nathan Birdsall is frequently referred to as Temperance Baldwin, but this is likely do to Nathan being confused with similarly named people. Currently, records documenting either her first or last name are sought.
Nathan Birdsall married about 1645, and his first son, Benjamin was born in Connecticut in 1646[1]

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Unknown by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.
It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Unknown:
Profile has been updated to Unknown LNAB. The attached discussion is related to the wife of Nathan Birdsall, and its useful to keep that with his family.
I don't think we should merge. This person was created as the wife of Nathan Birdsell. I think we should edit the profile to fit the facts of his wife, and mother of his children. If we merge, we just have to create a new profile.
There's a good overview of the various Baldwin sources on the genealogieonline.nl page, but its a question of sorting out if any of it applies to the wife of Nathan Birdsell. It sounds like from some of the comments below that perhaps both her first name and last name come from a mistaken identity.
She didn't marry Nathan Birdsell, she married Nathan Burwell. Its a little confusing, but I think we should consider this profile "Wife of Nathan Birdsell" and and adjust her name from there. She could end up as Temperance Unknown, or even Unknown Unknown.
Birdsall, Nathan& [Temperance BALDWIN] c. 1645? ; East Hampton, LI/Oyster Bay, LI
Unfortunately the Ancestry version and my printed version do not list the sources that the original printing had. The '[ ]" to me indicates uncertainly in her name.
Seeing some serious questioning that this Temperance Baldwin married Nathan Birdsall on Long Island. Although crossing the LI Sound is not unheard of, it is quite a way to go for a marriage when family would have been critical for a young married woman. Also, the Milford Temperance Baldwin married a Nathan Burwell, which is well-documented.
Neither she nor Nathan are found in Jacobus or any CT records. No mention of a marriage in Torrey. Can we even place her anywhere in New England? All children are listed as being born in Oyster Bay, New York so both arrival and marriage likely took place there. Is she even found in Anderson or another source to make her PGM eligible? If not perhaps we should clean up the profile, remove her from the Project and move on.
Anderson only lists heads of families. Temperance Baldwin is not listed in GMD.
In NEHGS, checking PGM for Temperance yields only that a Temperance Baldwin is listed as a grandchild in the will of John Astwood. will dated Nov. 9, 1669.
You could try to review "The Baldwin Genealogy From 1500-1881" by Charles Candee Baldwin. It is listed as a source on most of the Baldwins listed in GMD.
The Temperance of the Astwood will is the daughter of Richard. No other Temperences in either the 1881 Baldwin Genealogy or 1889 supplement could be this Temperance. I strongly believe Reynolds has it wrong on multiple counts. If continue with her, LNAB should either be uncertain or changed to Unknown with explanation in the text. Even if we remove from the PGM Project we should probably add a note about her last name to the profile.
Is this Richard a different one than the son of Sylvester of Salem? If not, she already exists Temperance (Baldwin) Burwell and is not the wife of Nathan. If this is what you are referring to, she needs to be disconnected from Nathan and the children and merged.
Yes I do not believe from my own research that she married Nathan Birdsall - there may be another Temperance whom he married but there is really no mention of a marriage. I agree, the crossing is not unheard-of but folks generally stayed put in those days.
I cannot even find a reference beyond Reynolds that the wife of Nathan was named Temperance but I may have missed it. The Frost Genealogy has her completely unknown. If the information in Nathan's profile is partially correct, their oldest two children would have been born in New England before he migrated to New York but no records are found and Jacobus does not list any Birdsall/Birdsell families in New Haven, only Bird and Birdsey, Also no entries under Burchall in Jacobus. However he may have been there too short a time to have been included in Jacobus. There are entries in the New Haven Colony Records for a Nathan Burchall, two for a theft from Robert Newmans, one for an oath of fidelity and one for paying a fine and agreeing to military training. Anderson is not certain this refers to the son Nathan of Henry Birdsall of Salem, MA.
Temperance Baldwin could not have been born in New Haven in 1622; the family of Sylvester Baldwin and wife Sarah Bryant/Bryan did not emigrate to N.E. until 1638, where Sylvester died during the voyage; and does not mention daughter Temperance in his will proved in Boston July 1638
Consensus: 1) removed her from PGM project. 2) not merge. see comment from M Cole.
Many thanks for all PGM contributers.

Researchers here agree on merge? Someone please do it, if you agree. After I remove her from PGM, connection with PGM comments will be disabled.
And it says she was born in 1651. https://www.genealogieonline.nl/en/ancestral-glimpses/I19276.php
