Biography

This John Baldwin, b. 28 Oct 1772 @ Stonington, Connecticut, was the first child of Sarah (Denison) & John Baldwin.

He married:

1) 31 Jan 1796 Abigail Boardman; they had 8 children:
  1. Abigail Baldwin (1797-1874); married Henry Baldwin
  2. John Adams Baldwin (26 May 1799 - 1805)
  3. Betsey Mason (Baldwin) Grant (1801-1878); married 1827 William S. Grant
  4. Lucy Prentice Baldwin, b. 13 Nov 1803; married 1823 Isaac Swan; 4 children
  5. Eunice Baldwin, b. 26 Sep 1806; married 1825 William Wheeler
  6. Benjamin Baldwin, b. 15 Jan 1809; died in infancy
  7. Emily A. Baldwin, b. 26 Apr 1810; married 1) 1829 John S. Hewitt; 2) Russell Griffing
  8. Sally Ann Baldwin, b. 7 Jun 1814; married George N. Griffing of Cheshire
