William Baldwin was born on 16 February 1835 in Singleton, New South Wales, Australia [1], the son of Edwin Baldwin and Alice Clark and the brother of Henry Baldwin, Edwin Charles Baldwin, Alice Jane (Baldwin) Baker, George Rowland Baldwin, John Harborne [half], Elizabeth Baldwin and Ann (Harborne) Pearce [half]
He married Margaret Smith on 13 March 1859 in Bundarra, New South Wales, Australia [2] and they were the parents of Alice Baldwin, Susannah Baldwin, William Baldwin, James Baldwin and Charlotte (Baldwin) Arnold.
William died on 25 July 1920 in Bundarra, New South Wales, Australia [3][4] Mr. William Baldwin, senior, perhaps the oldest resident of this district, died on Wednesday afternoon, aged 85 years. Deceased was a native of Singleton, but came to Kingstown 75 years ago. He resided almost continuously in the district for 70 years. He is one of the oldest New England carriers, and could recall many events in early history. He leaves a family of three, Mrs. Arnold, of Sydney, Mr. James Baldwin, and Mr. William Baldwin, jun., of this town.
