Caleb Baldwin, born in Newtown, Connecticut, on December 13, 1728; son of Caleb and Mehitable Baldwin, remained there.[1]
Known as Lieut. Caleb Baldwin, he married (1) March 8, 1756, Naomi Hard, daughter of Joseph Hard, of Newtown, Conn.; she died Jan 18, 1770, aged 37 yrs old. He was frequently known after his marriage as Col Caleb.[2]

He served as town clerk, in the town of Newtown, Connecticut, and was a prominent citizen with excellent penmanship.[2]
He married (2) about Nov 13 1771, Betty Betts, who died June 28, 1781.[2] They had one child: Caleb, b. Oct 15, 1772
He married (3) Sept 11 1787 Anna Febrique; and died Sept 6, 1804, age 75 yrs,[2]
Research Notes
Caleb Baldwin of Newtown owned several slaves. It is possible it was another Caleb Baldwin (there were a few) but this one was the best match, date-wise.
