Hi Ross

The Ireland Project (previously the Irish Roots Project) has now changed its structure into Teams. We require everyone with the Ireland Badge to be a member of at least one Team or Sub-Team and our google group.

See https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Project:Ireland for details.

The Teams are :-

1 Categories Team
2 Counties Team
3 Managed Profiles Team
4 Membership Team
5 Profile Improvement Team
6 Topics Team
7 Diaspora

Can you let me know if you’d like to stay on in the new project and which team(s) you’d like to join. Please also let me know your e-mail address so that I can get you added to the project’s Google Group or confirm you are already a member of the google group.

Many thanks,

Amy Gilpin Ireland Project Coordinator

Hi Ross , Thanks for your message. Excellent and welcome! I've added the project badge to your profile. If you click on the badge it will take you to the full list of our wonderful members. Clicking on the link Irish Roots Project will take you the first page of the project. Scroll down to participants where I've added your good self. Here you can let members know your Counties, clan/family names etc of interest etc. We also now have a google+ community which you can join. I'll let you explore and catch up with you later. Feel free to add anything to the County pages and let me know any clan or family name pages you want me to set up for you.

Thanks again for joining and enjoy. Maria

Hi Ross , and welcome to WikiTree! You mentioned your ancestors in Ireland and England. I wanted to let you know we have a great new project that focuses on the UK here called United Kingdom Project which links to our Irish Roots Project They would be a great places for you to get involved once you have settled into WikiTree.

You may find some of your ancestors are already on WikiTree and the people in both projects will be happy to help you in any way they can.

Thank you so much for joining WikiTree. Good luck with your research in 2015.

Hello Ross,

How are you doing? Hope you're enjoying our site.

Our vision is to build a collaborative tree. Please make sure to look for duplicates on WikiTree before adding a profile. Having dates and locations attached to every person assists in our mission as well.

Feel free to check out How To Use WikiTree. It's a great step-by-step guide.

Also Help Index with links to topics you may have questions on. Don't forget our G2G Forum where many of our generous members help each other out.

And of course, I'm here to help in any way I’m able. Just ask!

Excellent, thank you, Ross -

You're now a member of the WikiTree Community.

Please note we're trying to build one Collaborative Tree which means ONE profile per person. It is important to ensure no duplicates are entered as you add Profiles to WikiTree.

If you'd like any help, see the help section from the menu, top right, or visit the G2G forum. You might want to check out this 5-minute introductory video a member created.

Our Mentor Team is a friendly bunch of volunteers who will be glad to help you.Thank you for helping to build our shared tree!

I am now retired after a lifetime of building projects around the world. Following semi- retirement, I have been involved in building and managing a vineyard for the production of super premium fruit in the Yarra Valley, which is located just outside Melbourne.

I have known only a little about our family background, and as the previous generation have all passed away, if is left to my generation to put our history on paper Unfortunately, one arm of the family tree is Irish and it has not appeared possible to trace this part of the family early than the mid 1800's. But the rest has been great fun, particularly as part of the ancestry came from England in search of gold during the gold rush of the late 1800's I look forward to assisting other in their search for their beginnings.
