Biography

Alling BALL was born 21 Oct 1684 in New Haven, CT. He died 15 Apr 1761 in East Haven, New Haven, CT.

Jacobus initially[1] followed the 1916 Ball genealogy's claim that there were two sons Alling BALL, and that Alling born 1684 died in 1689, but he changed his mind on that matter and realized the Alling Ball who died in 1689 was actually the immigrant.[2] The FindAGrave citation below shows a picture which suggests that he was actually born in 1682. However, it does use the date of 7/30/1689 for his birth date. More research into the possibility that Alling Ball had two sons named Allen, one dying in 1689, is in order.
Baptism July 30, 1693 in New Haven.

He married Lucy, daughter of John Griswold of Killingworth.

DNA Connections
It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Alling by comparing test results with other carriers of his Y-chromosome or his mother's mitochondrial DNA. However, there are no known yDNA or mtDNA test-takers in his direct paternal or maternal line. It is likely that these autosomal DNA test-takers will share some percentage of DNA with Alling:

Please see: History of the Ball family : genealogy of the New Haven branch : Allen Ball and some of his descendants, 1638-1864 by Leonard Abram Bradley, p 30, available here. It suggests that there were two children named Alling Ball born to Captain Alling Ball. The first, born 10/21/1684 who died 9/21/1689, and the second born in 1689 who is presumably represented by this profile.

Ball-6224 and Ball-2589 appear to represent the same person because: These have the same birth date, parents and siblings. One died at about age 5, the other married and produced young. Are we looking at twins who were given the same name at birth?
