Disputed Origins

A previous version of this profile, without source, claimed she was the daughter of William Ball. She's been detached.

The New England Ball Project, citing The Big gEDom..., claims she was the daughter of New Haven settler Alling Ball. But since her son Aaron was born 1644, Susannah was probably born between 1622 and 1626, probably in England. This birth range precludes her being a daughter of Alling Ball and Dorothy, who were her contemporaries, having children in 1649. Susanna/Ruhama Ball b. ? d. 1677.

Biography

Susannah was born about 1622 in England. [1] Susanna married Thomas Blatchley of Branford (who also had an estate in Boston). She married secondly, Richard Bristow. [2][3]

She died 1677. [4] She probably died in Guilford, New Haven, where she had married Richard Bristow.

Her nuncupative will was written down by Joseph Eliot in Guilford on "7.7.80" (7 September 1680).[5] She wished her estate to be divided between her children (not named), and for her eldest, Aaron to get a double portion. Her inventory was taken on 11 July 1680 and recorded in New Haven.[5] Her sons, Aaron and Moses Blatchley, were granted administration.

No evidence of marriage to Blakesley. I suggest detaching him as husband unless someone has proof?

What is the source for Ball as her maiden name? The 1904 NEHGR article about Thomas Blatchley does not include a surname or suggest any relations.
