Research Notes

There is customary naming convention of children that appear throughout history. Many times the first son is named after the paternal grandfather. The second son is named after the maternal grandfather and the third son is named after the father. The second son being named Thomas Ball Bledoe is in keeping with this tradition.

The suit filed by Kathrine and Abraham was 20 18 Mar 1702/3 which means Thomas died before this date. To file suit she must have been of age (at least 21) this would put her birth year about 1681.

This profile had Mary Ann Dodson [1] as mother but has been detached as there is a source that says her mother's name was Hannah. She also had a stepmother named Mrs. Elizabeth (unknown) Brewster.

Abraham sr married twice, once to Kathryn Ball, then to Sarah Cave. He bought the Ball plantation from her father. When he marry Kathryn, she is mother to Issac and Aaron, the girls. Sarah cave was Anthony's mother, now a lot of trees are not right, but thats that facts. All this is in that marriage document above.

Thomas Ball is her father and Abraham's father in law

Ball-16566 and Ball-1081 appear to represent the same person because: Same father attached to each version of Katherine/Catherine Ball's profiles. Same birth year and same spouse name (another duplicate profile situation). An interesting difference is the attached mother profiles. Each has a source for a mother. One Hannah (unknown) and the other Sarah Bell. Don't know if Sarah and Hannah are the same person with the middle name being used on one of the sources.

Ball-6314 and Ball-1081 appear to represent the same person because: There is so little info in 6314 that I suggest merging them and then dealing with the difference in birth dates as Alternate dates in the biography.
Ball-6272 and Ball-1081 appear to represent the same person because: Birth year, death year, and husband match.
Ball-5317 and Ball-1081 appear to represent the same person because: Same married name, death date, etc.
