Biography

Leland Herbert Ball was born on 02 March 1891 at Hamburg, Livingston, Michigan, United States, ^[1] and died on 09 Dec 1961 at Mercy Hospital at Toledo, Lucas, Ohio, United States, at the age of 70 years and 9 months. ^[2]

He was the son of Erwin Ball (1859-1923) and Carrie E Fisk (1864-abt 1914), who had six children:

2. Edna C Ball (1887-abt 1905)
3. Florence Ball (1889-aft Apr 1910)
4. Leland Herbert Ball (1891-1961)
5. Leslie Erwin Ball (1894-1949)

In his World War I draft papers, the description of Leland is: medium build, with brown hair and blue eyes. ^[1] He appears in the 1920/30/40 Censuses respectively as a "Clerk Factory Office", "Treasurer Insurance", "Life Insurance Agent". ^{[3] [4] [5]} In his World War I draft papers, he is listed as a Service Mgr in Harper Overland Co, which is where is brother Leslie was employed in 1920. ^[1] In the World War II draft, ^[6] his employer was Neale Phypers Corp (Insurance). The company was founded in 1909 ^[7] and continues to work today (2018).

Leland married Rose Sheehy (1892-1972) on 25 Jun 1919 in Lucas, Ohio, United States. ^[8] The marriage ended because of his death 09 Dec 1961. ^[2] She died 11 years later in 1972. ^[9] No record of children was found for them.
