Biography

Soloman was born in 1795. He is the son of Jacob Ball.

Immigrated to Ernestown (now Kingston) Ontario from Newfane, VT in 1790. Settled on lots 27,28 conc 6, Ernestown. He was UEL. He is the 1st of many Ball descendants in the Kingston area of Ontario

Solomon Ball was born on 8 May 1757 at Newfane, Windham Co., VT.1 He was the son of Jacob Ball and Deborah Belknap.1 Solomon Ball married Esther Walker, daughter of Daniel Walker and Mary Young, circa 1783 at VT.2.

From a land petition that was granted: To his Excellency the Right Honourable Guy Lord Dorchester, Captain General, Governor & Commander in Chief of the Colonies of Quebec, Nova Scotia, & New Brunswick & their dependencies && [?]. The Memorial of Soloman Ball, late a private in the Loy'l Rangers: Humbly showeth that your Lordship's Memorialist Being by his Majesty's Instructions entitled to two hundred acres of land for himself & family consisting of a wife and one child, has only received as yet but one hundred acres, which he has duly improved, humbly prays that his Lordships' Bounty of two hundred acres, together with the one hundred still remaining due to him as also two hundred acres more in right of his deceased Father, who drew one hundred acres & improved the same, in all five hundred acres of land may be assigned to him in the Eleventh Township. And your Memorialist as in duty bound shall ever pray. Solomon Ball 16 July 1790.3.
