Adin Ballou laments the lack of records for Peter Ballou but lists the following children:

  • Jemima, m. David Sprague
  • Martha, m. John King Jr.

Residence

Peter Ballou settled in Loquasquissuck, near his brothers James and John. After the death of his son Peter by drowning, Peter Sr. sold his farm and moved to the area that is now Scituate, Rhode Island.

Probate

His will is transcribed in the book, An elaborate history and genealogy of the Ballous in America.

Att a Town Council held in Scituate Munday September ye 13th: 1731 by Adjournment...

Jeremiah Belleau of sd. Scituate layed before this Council the Last Will and Testament of his Deceased Father Peter Belleau of sd. Town in order to be Proved, and David Sprague John King and Stephen Hopkins personally appeared before sd. Council and Declared on their Engagement that they saw the sd. Peter Belleau the Testator sign seal and Declare the same to be his Last Will and Testament being then of perfect mind and memory and that in his presence they set their hands thereto as Witnesses The said Will being Examined by the Council was by them. Proved approved and allowed to be a good Will and ordered to be Recorded, And the sd. Jeremiah Belleau being name Executor of his sd. Fathers Last Will Did Exhibit an Inventory of the goods Chattels Rights and Creditts of his sd. Deceased Father which was by the Council Accepted and ordered to be Recorded and the sd. Jeremiah Belleau prayed letters of Administration on said Estate which was granted and the Town Clerk is hereby ordered and Impowered in the name and behalf of this Council to give the sd. Jeremiah Belleau Letters of Administration accordingly not this sd. Will Inventory and Letters of Administn are Recorded in Scituate [illegible] Book of Land Evidence by [illegible] Brown Town Clerk.[1]
