Biography

John attended the Collect of New Jersey in 1846 in Frederick, MD.[1]

In 1850 he was enumerated in Frederick, Frederick, Maryland, United States.[2] The household included John Battzell 75, Ruth Battzell 50, Eliza A Battzell 25, John R Battzell 22, Alice Battzell 13, Fanny Battzell 11, and Charles Graham 38. The elder John was a physician and the younger John was a lawyer.

In 1860 he was enumerated at 4th Ward Madison City, Dane, Wisconsin, United States.[3] The household included John R Baltzell 32, and John E Sutton 21. John was a lawyer. John Sutton was a law student.

In 1870 he was enumerated in Madison, Dane, Wisconsin, United States.[4] The household included J H Chappell 29, John Baltzell 42, Andrew Sexton 38, John M Sumner 33, Henry Beckley 22, Ed Lacier 26, and Herman Gartur 19. John was a municipal judge.

John Ridgeley Baltzell married Virginia Carr Robbins on 10 October 1878 in Madison, Dane, Wisconsin, United States. He was the son of John Baltzell and Ruth Baltzell.[5]

In 1880 he was enumerated in Madison, Dane, Wisconsin, United States.[6] The household included John Ballzel 52, wife Verginia Ballzel 40, daughter Ruth L. Ballzel 7 months, servant Elissbeth Mohrhof 19, and visitor Fanny Mondgamgry 24. John was a miller.

John was employed as a Judge.

John was mentioned on a memorial in Forest Hill Cemetery, Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin, United States with a death date of 17 June 1893.[7]
