Capt.Benjamin purchased his first house from John Allum in Charlestown and became a member of the local church on 3 Nov 1728.[1] Shortly after his membership to the Charlestown Church, he relocated to Groton; spending the rest of his life there. Capt. Benjamin was a tanner [2]
Benjamin was a Captain of the local militia and very likely served in the colonial wars leading up to the Revolutionary War. [3] He is a Revolutionary Vet [4] appearing in the DAR Patriot Centennial Edition, Page 140.
Capt. Benjamin was united in marriage to Anna Lawrence[5] Capt. Benjamin served as a Deacon at the Unitarian Church on Great Road, just north of his home. [6]
Edmund's birth record specifically lists Benjamin as his father.[7]
5 Apr 1732 Capt. Benjamin is recorded to have received money for traveling to Charlestown to procure wine for the funeral of Lieutenant Jonathan Lawrence by William Lawrence for the funeral of Lieutenant Jonathan Lawrence died, 19 Sep 1729.[8]
