Congratulations, you've been a WikiTree member for a month!
We're glad you're here. A few tips to help you dive in even deeper:
Check out Beyond the Basics of WikiTree for a guide on some of our more advanced features such as Projects, Categories, and Merging.
We're very active on our social sites and we have an excellent blog where you'll find our monthly newsletter as well as tips, interviews with our members and guest posts from others in the genealogy community.
And we're always looking for volunteers to assist in different ways.
If you have any questions, please let me know. I'm here to help!
Hi, I see that you just volunteered and signed our honor code. That's great! Is there a particular time period, location, or topic you're interested in? Maybe you have some historically significant ancestors? I see you have surnames for tags. Why don't you stop by the One Name Studies project, to see if there's already a name study for (surname) going on? The current leaders for that are Doug Lockwood and Alison Andrus. They would be happy to get you started.
Let me know if you need any help! We're glad to have you on board!!

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!
You'll get an email from us that has helpful links to get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any other genealogy site out there.
When you confirm your email address, youll have an opportunity to volunteer and tell us about your genealogical interests.
What brings you to WikiTree? Do you have research youd like to share? Are you interested in how your family fits into the big tree? ?Fill in the tags and comments on your profile to show what you're researching? ?and click the "Save Tag(s) and Volunteer" button, and one of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership, and youll be on your way!

WikiTree members are always eager to offer guidance to a fellow genealogist so ask for help if you need anything.
If you have WikiTree-specific problems you can contact a Mentor? at the Mentors Project.
Take a look at our Question of the Week: How do you document, preserve, and share your photos? How do you store your originals? and share a little something about your search.
