David Barclay was born in Scotland.

Birth

David Barclay was born on 22 April 1796 and baptized on 24 April 1796 in Leslie Fife, Scotland.^[1][2] On the original parish register it stated: 'James Barclay, labouring man, Pitcairn and his wife, Mary Stark had their son James 22 April 1796' (viewed document).

Death

David died on 16 February 1878, widower of Jean Graham, aged 81 years. The death certificate stated he was the son of William Barclay & Mary Stark. The informant was his son, William. He died of Bronchopneumonia (10 days). He was buried on 19 February 1878 in Leslie, Fife.^[6]

Research Notes

Interesting profile - this David is the son of a James Barclay and Mark Stark, not a William Barclay and Mark Stark. On Family Search, it is obvious that a James Barclay is his father but it comes under the umbrella of a William Barclay who married a Mark Stark in Falkland.
