John Henry Adam Barger was born on 21 Mar 1855 in Rowan, North Carolina to parents Andrew Barger and Caroline Lingle. He married firstly Sarah C Atwell on 3 Aug 1876 in Rowan, North Carolina. He married secondly Catherine Sapphira Lyerly on 29 Apr 1886 in Rowan, North Carolina. Children: George A, Luther A, Mary M, Hugh J, Fannie C, Mertie, Laura Anna. He died on 5 Feb 1939 in Providence, Rowan, North Carolina.
