Obituary

"Another one of those rapidly dwindling pioneers passed to his reward last Saturday, June 16, when the Grim Reaper called For J. W. BARKER at his home in Texas county, Oklahoma. John Washington BARKER was born January 11, 1863 in Bacca county, Illinois, and at time of death was 71 years of age.

In August, 1887, he was married to Miss Annie E. AUBREY. Eleven children blessed this union, four of whom are dead. Surviving are six sons: John, W. C., Claude, Harvey, Leroy, and Roland; and one daughter, Mrs. Ethel SOUTH; the widow and 19 grandchildren.

In 1888, the deceased was converted and became a member of the Methodist church. He had been a resident of Texas since 1881, moving from his native state and locating near Fort Worth. In 1905, he came to old Ochiltree, where he lived until 1915, when he went to Texas county, where he resided until his death.

J. W. BARKER followed farming and stock raising the greater part of his life. In the early days of Ochiltree, he was active in the building of the town and community.

Services were held at the Methodist church in this city Monday afternoon, after which the remains were laid rest in the Ochiltree cemetery. W. C. Bryan was in charge of the funeral services.

(Published in The Ochiltree County Herald (Perryton, TX), June 21, 1934.)" - copied from Find A Grave memorial.

Morning Cousin Jeffrey

John Washington Barker 1863-1934 and Annie Awbrey/Barker only had two girls. Ethel and Bertha. His father is John W. Barker 1822-1863 Perry county In. (civil war records). A few other people has John Washington father a Jessey Barker this info is also wrong. Rest of the info looks good Jeffrey. I took a look at one of the links you posted.. guess I will have to find who the tree belong to and have them removed uncle Clyde from it
