Biography

Thomas was born about 1831. ^[1][2] He is a son of Jacob Barker and Elizabeth. ^[3]

In 1851 Thomas is living in York with sister Hannah (17), mother Elizabeth Blakeborough (43), step father Robert Blakeborough (44) and half brothers Richard Blakeborough (9) and John Blakeborough (3). Thomas is deaf and dumb. ^[4]

Marriage to Jane Grimston 31 July 1856 Leeds Yorkshire. Thomas Barker, bachelor, labourer of Templar Street, son of Jacob Barker, labourer married Jane Grimston, spinster of Templar Street, daughter of Francis Grimston, butcher. ^[5][6]

In 1861 Thomas and jane are living in Leeds with their 6 month old twin sons Jacob and Isaac. Thomas is an agricultural labourer, jane is a dressmaker. Both Thomas and Jane are stated to be deaf and dumb from birth. ^[7]

In 1881 Thomas and Jane are living in Leeds. They have three sons, Jacob (20), Isaac (20) and Joseph (8). ^[8]

Thomas died in 1902 ^[9]
