Biography

Sarah, daughter of John Barker, is named wife of Robert Lanier in her father's will:[1]

"Sarah Lanier, daughter, wife of Robert Lanier" (will probated 19 May 1714 in Surry County, Virginia).

Research Notes

Estimated Birth: Born 1660 triggers a data warning about her mother being born after 1660 ("mother Busby-195 born 1 Jan 1664"). Her husband's profile has his birth year as 1674; Sarah's revised birth date in datafield - "after 1675" - is based on her mother's and husband's birth years. The earliest birth year given on the profiles attached as her children is 1696, which would put her at 21 when daughter Jean was born.

From Geni:

Grace Barker (Cotton) Birthdate: between 1650 and 1660 Birthplace: Surry County, Virginia Colony Death: June 30, 1724 (63-74) Surry County, Province of Virginia Immediate Family: Daughter of Thomas Cotton and Suzannah Busby Mother of Elizabeth Foster; Sarah Lanier; John Barker; Hannah Lashley; Richard Barker and 3 others

The connected father and mother are incorrect, since they would be too young. Either her birth year is incorrect OR her father should be linked to his father John SR and mother to one of his wives
Curious intersections..If Sarah Barker ( Lanier) was born in 1660... and her Father as listed John Jr shows a birth of 1652..? The math doesn't work...

Coupled with her birth four years before her mother's birth of 1664...Per this profile. There are other existing records of her parents as : John Barker & Grace Cotton Barker. There are references to Sarah also listed in her mother's will...1724-1725. Is the contradiction hinged on " John Jr"...perhaps..?
