WARNING: Because our profile lists 3 different dates of birth, and f-a-g agrees with one of them I will edit the dob "22 Jun 1536" to match f-a-g "1540" Carole
John Barker was born in England about 1540. He was a cloth maker at Nayland, Suffolk.
John was baptised on 11 April 1540 in Elm, Cambridgeshire.[1]
He married Margaret Mawle of Nayland on May 26, 1562 in their village. Margaret was the daughter of John Mawle and his wife Margaret of Stoke Nayland. John and Margaret had eleven children baptized at Nayland.
He was prosperous, as can be seen by his will, in which he bequeaths five houses to members of his family, and says that other houses have been disposed of. The will was made on June 24, 1587 [2] and John was buried at Nayland on October 22, 1588, in the churchyard of St. James Church. [3]

Barker-4558 and Barker-348 appear to represent the same person because: The 1562 dod is apparently an entry error. As stated in bio, it is the marriage date not dod.
This profile is linked to two profiles for child, Alice (both created from gedcoms). As both have the same birth year and are linked to the same father, they should be merged (Barker-387 and Barker-5559). While the death years posted in the two profiles are different, neither profile shows any source for the death, so death dates should only be considered as possible dates and not be enough to say they are different people. Another potential duplicate profile for Alice that should also be reviewed is Barker-360.
Barker-360 reviewed as duplicate on 6 March 2023 there was no conflicting data to reject, but the only matching data was DoB "abt 1567". Left as unmerged match. JG Weston
