Biography

Nicholas was a Friend (Quaker)
  • Nicholas Barker was born on the 8th of May 1739 to Daniel and Elizabeth Barker in North Carolina.[1]

The Barker Family History source references a "genealogy of the Craven and Barker Families published by the World-Courier, Bloomington, Indiana 1913 for John W. Craven (Registrar, Indiana University) and sent to all members of the Craven-Barker-Richardson Association with compliments of Oscar H. Craven." It describes that Robert, Nicholas, Samuel, and John (sons of Daniel) migrated to Deep River, North Carolina along with the Peter Craven family and five other families, shortly before the Revolutionary War.

Samuel, Robert, Nicholas and John are seen in the 1790 Census in Randolph County, NC.
