OBITUARY

Military rites were held at the double funeral of C. W. BARKER and W. H. BARKER, held Monday morning in the First Baptist church, with color guards, firing squads and pall bearers from the VFW and American Legion posts participating in the military ceremony at the gravesides.

Ward H. N. Gregg, minister of the Guymon Christian church delivered the funeral sermon. He was assisted in the services by Rev. O. C. Curtis, pastor of the local Methodist church.

A mixed chorus composed of Lawrence ELLZEY, Mrs. Charlie KENT, Mrs. Jack ALLEN, Mrs. Jim SHARP and Carl CADE sand "Rock of Ages," and "Nearer My God to Thee."

Pallbearers for C. W. BARKER, a World War I veteran, were R. B. YOAKLEY, G. B. MEARS, W. H. LACKEY, Van W. STEWART, B. H. PECKENPAUGH and C. J. FRANTZ.

Pallbearers for W. H. BARKER a World War II veteran, were Sidney JINES, Joe COX, Russell SMITH, Don ENTERLINE, Jack DODSON and Fountain WADE.

Clarence Wilburn BARKER was born July 1, 1896 and died May 6, 1948. He lived in Ochiltree county since 1905 and was married on August 20, 1920 to Miss Hazel TEPNER. To this union was born four children, three girls and one boy. He was a veteran of World War I, and had professed the Christian religion when he was about 14 years of age.

William Howard BARKER was born August 30, 1921 and died May 6, 1948. He was born in Ochiltree county and had lived here all of his life except the four years he served in World War II with the U. S. Navy. He was a member of the Baptist church. He was unmarried.

Survivors of C. W. BARKER include his wife, Hazel; three daughters, Mrs. J. W. MUNDY, San Pablo, California, Mrs. Joe BUCKHAULTS, Sugar City, Colorado, and Patricia, Perryton; five brothers, John BARKER, Liberal, H. H. BARKER, Satanta, Kansas, C. R. BARKER, Leroy BARKER and Biz BARKER, all of Protection, Kansas; one sister, Mrs. Lloyd SOUTH, Riverside, California; his mother, Mrs. Annie BARKER of Protection, Kansas, and three grandchildren.

Interment was in the Ochiltree cemetery.
