He married Silvia Smith, apparently 22 Jan 1818. In 1850, William and Silvia resided in Porter, Rock County, Wisconsin, farming with their children William, Albert, Samuel and Adelaide.[4] By 1860, William and Silvia had moved to White Creek, Adams County, Wisconsin, where, alone, they farmed.[5] William's wife, Silvia, died in White Creek, 12 Nov 1863, at age 65.[6]
William moved to Iowa. In 1870, he resided with the family of his son, Albert, in Washington Township, Bremer County, Iowa.[7] He died in Rudd, Floyd County, Iowa, at the residence of his daughter, "Mrs. E. F. Bacon," 25 Jan 1882, at age 85.[8] He's buried in Harlington Cemetery in Waverly, Bremer County, Iowa.[8]
