Benjamin was born August 21,1869 in Keokuk County, Iowa, United States. His parents were John Yager Barklow and Nancy Hanks (Snyder) Barklow. The family moved to Coos County, Oregon, United States in 1875.[1]
In 1880, Benjamin (age 10) lived in Coquille, Coos, Oregon, United States with his father John (age 56), mother Nancy (age 37), and siblings Martha (age 18), Daniel (age 14), Isaac (shown as Isic, age 8), and Emanuel (age 4). His father was a farmer and Daniel and Benjamin were farm hands.[2]
Benjamin married Emma Jane Bonewitz August 7,1890 and they had six children[1]

In 1900, Benjamin (shown as Frank, age 31) and Emma (age 28) lived in Myrtle Point, Coos, Oregon, United States with children Pearl (age 7), Ruby (age 6), and Ira (age 1). Frank was a farmer.[3]
In 1910, Benjamin (age 40) and Emma (age 37) lived in Myrtle Point, Coos, Oregon, United States with children Pearl (age 17), Ruby (age 15), Ira (age 11), and Loren (shown as Lorin, age 7). Benjamin was a dairy farmer.[4]
In 1920, Benjamin (shown as Frank B, age 50) and Emma (age 47) lived in
Norway, Coos, Oregon, United States with children Ira (age 20), Loren (age 17), and Fred (age 3). Benjamin was a dairy farmer.[5]
Benjamin died December 21, 1925 in Siskiyou, California, United States.[6]
He was buried in Block 8, Lot 8 of the Norway Cemetery in Norway, Coos County, Oregon, United States.[1]

[Obit] Benjamin F. Barklow, (Frank), son of John and Nancy Barklow was born in Keokuk county,Iowa Aug.21,1869 and died near Montague,Calif. Dec.21,1925 age 56 years 4 months. He came to Coos county with his parents in 1875. He joined the Church of the Brethren at age 16.
He married Emma Bonewitz, daughter of Rev. Bonewitz Aug.7,1890. To them was born three sons and 3 daughters, 1 daughter preceded him in death. Children: Mrs. Merle Poland of this city; Ira, Freddie and (Loren) and a daughter, Ruby. Also 1 granddaughter. Brothers: Daniel, Isaac and Manley. Four half-brothers: Elder Thomas and J.D. Barklow; Albert and (Jeremiah) died previously; 1 half-sister, Mrs. Dan Root who lives west of Myrtle Point. Mr. Barklow was called to the ministry by Myrtle Point church in 1892.
Pallbearers were all nephews of the deceased: John Barklow, Walter Barklow, Henry Barklow, Harley Barklow, Ernest Barklow and Arlin Barklow. Burial was in Norway cemetery. (SCCA-12/24/1925)
