He married Mary Jane Braswell on 28 August 1862, in Smithville, DeKalb, Tennessee, United States. They were the parents of at least 4 sons and 2 daughters. He lived in Civil District 4, DeKalb, Tennessee, United States in 1910. He died on 21 February 1924, at the age of 80, and was buried in Dibrell, Warren, Tennessee, United States.
