Biography

Frances "Fannie" Barnes was born in 1824 to Richard Gilmer Barnes and Frances Johnston in North Carolina, presumably Rowan County. She married Moses Lamb[1] and had six children. She died in 1905 and is buried in Churchland, Davidson County, North Carolina.[2]

1850 Residence: North Subdivision of Davidson County, North Carolina as Frances Lamb (24) in household of Moses Lamb (28) with Mary E Lamb (1), and James Lamb (25, laborer). ( Is James a brother to Moses? Nance-269 12:14, 16 April 2015 (EDT))[3]

1860 Residence: Davidson County (Lexington Post Office) Northern Division as Fanny Lamb (36) in household of Moses Lamb (38) with Mary (11), Lewis (8), John (4), and Sarah (1). Family is listed as "Lam" or "Larn" depending on transcription.[4]

1870 Residence: Boone Township, Davidson County (Lexington Post Office) North Carolina as Fanny Lamb (46) in household of Moses Lamb (48) with Mary Lamb (21), Lewis Lamb (17), John Lamb (13), Sarah F Lamb (11), George Lamb (5) and Caton [Carlton] Lamb (3). Some census transcriptions stop with Lewis, who is last line on the bottom of the page.[5]

1880 Residence: Lexington Township, Davidson County, North Carolina as Fannie Lamb (56) wife of head of household Moses Lamb (58) with son John Lamb (21), daughter Fannie Lamb (18), son George Lamb (16), and son Calvin Lamb (11).[6]

1900 Residence: Boone Township, Davidson County, North Carolina as Fannie Lamb (76) mother to head of household Lewis F Lamb (48) with wife Amanda J Lamb (45), daughter Pearl B Lamb (15), son Harva D Lamb (11), and daughter Tricia A Lamb (8).[7]

Died in 1905 and is buried in Churchland Baptist Cemetery, Tyro, Davidson County, North Carolina.[8]
