Biography

William was born in 1738. William Barnes married Martha Upson, with whom he had six children. They moved to Northampton, Massachusetts around 1800.[1]

Recent DNA results prove that William Barnes, the son of Stephen Barnes, Jr. and Martha Wheadon, did indeed father children in South Carolina and married again while still married to his first wife Martha Upson,

He passed away in 1813.[2]
