She married Allen Grimes on March 18, 1819.

In the 1870 United States Census, she is listed as 70 years old, cannot write, and living in the household of Allen Grimes, her husband, in dwelling #2644 in Beat 12, Monroe County, Alabama. Her occupation is listed as keeping house. Also in the household are 34 year old daughter Catherine with her two children: Lula & Thomas. [2]

She died, at the age of 74, on February 1, 1875 in Monroe County, Alabama. She is buried at the Hines Cemetery, Monroe County, Alabama.[3]
