Obituary[1]

Former school nurse for Waynesburg School District Lucy B. Lemmon, 90, of 429 West Poplar Street, Grove City, died Monday, April 13, 1998, in Countryside Convalescent Center, Mercer.

She was born August 17, 1907, in Three Forks, Mont., a daughter of Antrim E. Barnes Sr. and Lucinda Marshall Barnes. Mrs. Lemmon was a graduate of East High School, Cleveland, Ohio, and was a descendent of a well-known pioneer family in Montana that built the first hotel in the Yellowstone National Park. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Waynesburg, a member of the first graduating class with a B.S. in nursing from Case Western University, Cleveland, and a member of the Pennsylvania Cremation and Memorial Society.

During World War II, she taught home health care for the American Red Cross and was a nurse for the Waynesburg School District from 1954 to 1972. Surviving are two daughters, Marcia Schultz of Grove City, and Sarah Ann Magnotti of Bethel Park; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Deceased are her husband, Edward S. Lemmon who died in 1972; and one brother. There is no visitation. A memorial service will be conducted in Waynesburg at the convenience of the family.
