Harvey (sic)Barnes was born 3 Nov 1827, in Watertown CT the son of Merritt Woodruff Barnes (1788-1882) & Polly Foote (1794-1881). He died 26 Sep 1853 . He appeared on the 1850 census taken at Wallingford CT, listed as a spoon maker in the home of John Munson. [1]
Harry H. Barnes married Anna P. Hickox 19 Dec 1847 in Connecticut, United States. [2]
Harry Henry Barnes died 26 Sep 1856 (NB this is a typo in the listing; the photo of the stone shows 1853 as the death year) in Connecticut. His dob is not listed in findagrave but the stone gives his age as 26, which gives a yob of 1827. He was buried in the Evergreen Cemetery in Watertown, Litchfield County, Connecticut.
FindaGrave lists his wife:
Harry H. Barnes died 26 Sep 1853.[4]
FindaGrave gives his middle name as Henry, His middle initial was H but I have no other source for 'Henry'. Also, his dod is given there as 1856, his gravestone clearly says 1853, as does his death record.
Turns out there are two Findagrave entries for a Harry Barnes who died 26 Sep 1853 at age 26.. One shares a stone with Anna Punderson Hickcox in the Evergreen Cemetery in Watertown (Memorial ID 150999990); the other shares a stone with Lewis Barnes, who died in at 28 in1839 in Illinois, in the Old Watertown Cemetery, (Memorial ID 24215395) also in Watertown. The Harry who married Anna does seem to have had a brother Lewis bc 1811. So I'm really confused. Are they the same cemetery? is one a monument to two family members buried elsewhere?
