At age 63, William Herbert Barnett married Gwendolin Iccomb, nee Bambrook, age 49, on 12 February 1945 at Alabama City, Etowah County, Alabama.[4]
William died on 7 December 1954 at Fulton County, Georgia.[5] He was interred at Berry Highland Memorial Cemetery, Knoxville, Knox County, Tennessee.[6]

After residing for a while in Atlanta they removed in 1903 to Knoxville, Tenn. he accepting a position as Superintendant Union Manfg. Co. later with Mahoney-Lipscomb Mfg. Co. and Eagle Manfg. Co. of Bristol Tenn. then he returned to Knoxville entering the same business that of manufacturing pants, overalls, etc., under the name of Foster Bros - Barnett Co., manufacturing a brand of trousers as "F-B" (Finest Built).[3]
