Little is known about Cynthia except that her 1831 marriage license and the 1850 census, from Scott County, Kentucky were found.
The first (1831) reference has "Syntha Barhill" in the annotation.
The second (1850) reference lists Powell family members as follows: James, age 40, born 1810; Cynthia, age 34, born 1816; Samuel, age 18, born 1832; James, age 16, born 1834; Mary, age 14, born 1836; Martha, age 12, born 1838; Francis M., age 9, born 1841; Benjamin F., age 7, born 1843; Nancy J., age 5, born 1845; and Manlius V., age 0, born 1850.
